Fall in love with the Finnish soul landscape
Lauhanvuori-Hämeenkangas UNESCO Global Geopark is located in the southern part of Suomenselkä, in the regions of South Ostrobothnia, Satakunta, and Pirkanmaa. The lush landscapes of Lauhanvuori-Hämeenkangas Geopark, along with its ancient rocks and cliffs, remind us of the mountain ranges that were folded into this area nearly 2 billion years ago. Over the years, the mighty mountains eroded away, and the landscape transformed into the marshy terrain it is today. Within the Geopark area, you can find unusually extensive natural marshlands for southern Finland, covering up to a third of the area's surface. The mire formation was made possible by the alternating periods of glaciation and warm climates. Experience the mystique and tranquility of the wilderness mires!
Gorgeous mire nature
The peace and mystique of wild mires, charming needle paths, and rustling forest landscapes - these are what make Lauhanvuori - Hämeenkangas Geopark, a hiker's dream destination.
